I am
Dominic James Borrows-Jones and am currently living in Nottingham. i am
studying fine art degree at central college Clifton. I believe I don’t have a
favoured media which I like to stick with, I enjoy experimenting and trying out
new media with each project. Previous to this course I did a lot of
illustration and I believe this is my most favoured area of art. I've tried to
step outside my comfort zone and try out new media which has been successful but
I want to get back into drawing as I find it most therapeutic.
My
work often revolves around my family and myself as I enjoy letting people have
an insight into my life. A previous project of mine was about separation between families and how I believe everything happens for a reason. My style is
often very intricate as I like my work to be rather clean and precise. I like
my work to be quite colourful and bold as I enjoy how colour can create certain
feelings. I've noticed that previous projects of mine have a sense of fantasy as
I did work which was about toadstools, fairies and aliens. Just recently I have
been enjoying expressing my feelings towards identity and body image, as I think
everyone has there own perks and individuality.
I
had the opportunity to exhibit my work at Beeston library, I got a positive
response from the public who stated mine was one of there most favored pieces
in the exhibition. I found this very humbling and helped me feel more
comfortable when people viewed my work.
To
develop my work I wish to continue experimenting with new media to get more of
an understanding of what I enjoy and find most intriguing. However I also want
to start drawing again so I can determine what area of drawing I enjoy the most
and think I can excel most In.
